This insight reminds me the role of a 'Striker' in the game of football. A Striker always has to put teamwork first and should never be overconfident in his own skills. Keeping personal desire for fame at bay and thinking for the overall goal[not the football one] and progress of the team is what a player needs to do which puts him/her in the category of the 'Contributor'
My favs in football in this context:
Stephen Gerrard [Liverpool FC, Barclay's EPL]
Paul Scholes [Manchester United, ""]
Frank Lampard [Chelsea, ""]
You need to check out this awesome fellow 'Paul Scholes'. He can beat any of the key players [whatever be their roles - Captain, Strikers, Goal Keepers!] in dribbling. Any player of any level will certainly have great trouble in snatching the football from this guy. But this doesnt make him feel high of himself. He passes the football to his teammate at the right moment as 'Team Goals' are his objective and not the fame by hitting a direct goal[when things are actually in not favor].
This certainly makes him a 'Contributor Team Member'
This is about Apache Foundation, a successful open source organization. Apache's main product is Web Server initially stated in 1995. This was 2nd successful open source project after Linux kernel. But due to some reason, main developers of this Apache web server quite and took "sanyas" from this computer world. So, web server project became unstable due to no more newer updates for server.
But, this project was open source. source code of this server was already available. So, some developers started to develop their own updates called patches for this apache web server. but then situation created that, there were many patches available for same tasks. like we can find video down loader add-ons more than one having same functionality with some different extra features. So, due to numbers of patches, users of apache web server confused about selecting proper patch.
And every developers like that people use his patches. but instead of creating environment of any competition. They met together within a year. so, for same patches, their developers started work together. so, they got a big market.
but if they never tried to met together, then they will not on this position today they are.
Adam gilchrist was play like team and for team, he was compromise with his batting position in test match and made team stronger.....
Some times ego and disturbance of teammate is affect badly to other teammates. Some times people targeting enthuse contributor for his jealousy ......
I experience when playing some outdoor games as team work......
For the team work we can give the example of the any movie making , if director,producer,actors,music director all works together , to make his/her movie superhit and mostly like by people.
if they will not work as a team then they cann't achieve the success.
I would like to give an example of Hostel life. When made team than no-one can't break it.Example of Om shanti Hostel, some days food problems having in hostel than girls and boys made a team and than strike one day.And girls & boys not eaten food and at night girls called to mr.khansir for solving problems... At that day night khansir and vashishthsir came with some food & fulfil some requirements so team always wins and made strong.... & getting success!!!
When I was in school there was no system of a student council in our school due to which students did not get enough leadership development oppotunities nor enough chance to bring up their points to the management. I had friends from other schools where there was a system of student council. I with a team of few other students took up the point to our teachers. After this the school management introduced the sytem of student rpresentatives from each statndards and they formed a systematic body called the student council.This provided more exposure to our school students and reduced the communication gap between teachers and students.
For teamwork I would like to give an example of any Company where all workers, employees work together to get maximum profit for their company. If all employees work as a team then they can easily achieve their goal, they also can solve any type of problem if they have support of one another. So, the successful team can make the successful company.
